Worship Arts Teams
At Seattle Unity, Worship Arts means any artform that intersects with worship, whether it's music, dance, visuals, design, lights and tech, poetry, or any other artform.
Worship Arts Director Erin McGaughan leads teams of volunteer congregant singers, supporting all our Sunday services, along with our pro houseband and pro local guest soloists. Inclusion is crucial here, so you don't need fancy skillsets. Just email Erin and let her know you're interested: erinm@seattleunity.org.
Check out some previous services to see the kinds of things our platform backup-singers do. Volunteer instrumentalists are also invited to reach out, though stronger skillsets are needed for those spots.
Erin also presents other Worship Arts workshops and events in a variety of subjects. This past year has seen sessions on vocal technique, sacred scents, singalongs, dance and movement (workshop featuring local master Leah Mann), sound baths, congregant art show, hymnody, seasonal decor, caroling, and more. Got an idea for a session? Email Erin at erinm@seattleunity.org.
Erin hires professionals, too. Do you know of local musicians and artists who could be great in our Sunday services, or leading a special workshop? Email Erin at erinm@seattleunity.org.

Worship Arts Blog – The Mushroom Connection
Worship Arts is about any way in which our creativity interfaces with spirituality. So, yes, cooking is absolutely a form of Worship Arts. For this project, I bounced off the nature-based metaphors provided by our current Tree of Life series. We’re studying how the underground networks of mycelia can connect many different species, and it…
