Worship Arts Design
Worship Arts Design Meetings are on the first Sundays of each month, and are a chance for members and visitors to contribute ideas to the arts in the Services! Directed by our fabulous Worship Arts Director, Erin McGaughan, the meetings are an hour-long discussion that informs upcoming Services – the music, the visuals, the entire worship experience.
Each month has a different focus, but they’re all about getting your input on the evolution of our worship Services. Do you have ideas about how to create great visuals for holidays or seasons? Observances for Spring Equinox, or Summer Solstice? How about an interfaith project, or experiential worship elements like dance, mudra, or yoga?
Experience and expertise are not required, either – if you attend our services, then your ideas matter!(There are often snacks, too.)
As always, if you have input, but you can’t attend these meetings, email your thoughts about Worship Arts to erinm@seattleunity.org.

Thank you, to all who joined in on our Generations of Chant class on April 7th. Here are some notes and listening links, so you can hear more of the little snippets we heard in our session. —- Unlike a chant bath, this session’s approach was like a wine-tasting class: to learn about it, taste…
Generations of Chant – A Worship Arts Experience!
Announcing: Chant is a spiritual practice that appears everywhere on our planet, expressing a vast range of spiritual traditions, over millennia of human history. Worship Arts Blog – Poetry inspired by the Tree of Life theme
Marcia Rutan is a poet and multi-modal artist with a keen awareness of the spiritual in everything. Worship Arts Blog – The Mushroom Connection
Worship Arts is about any way in which our creativity interfaces with spirituality. So, yes, cooking is absolutely a form of Worship Arts. For this project, I bounced off the nature-based metaphors provided by our current Tree of Life series. We’re studying how the underground networks of mycelia can connect many different species, and it…
Worship Arts Blog – 12 Powers Project
Worship Arts Director Erin here. As we move through this Seeds of Intention series in our 2022 Tree of Life theme, now is a perfect time to re-engage with Unity basic teachings. I’ve done this several times before, always with interesting results, and once I even got a pretty good teaching song out of it.…

Chants On Demand 2 This is the second installation in our series pulling from our archive of meditative chant recordings. (also check out Chants on Demand 1) While I know chanting at home isn’t the same as chanting together in a group, I encourage you to give it a try. In addition to the meditative…

Carolyn’s Quilts I’ve enjoyed Carolyn’s beautiful, classically trained voice for several years, and only just learned that she’s also a quilter. We see Carolyn regularly now in Zoom Fellowship, and got peeks at some of her masterful work. From Carolyn: I started getting interested in art quilts about 10 years ago and it’s become quite…
