Open House: We Need You – Two Weeks to Go!

Open House is almost here, and it’s time to fill in the last of our volunteer roles. Whether you have kids, you’re single, or you’ve been part of Seattle Unity for years, there’s a role that fits you.

 

Goal: Email addresses! (50 Parkview, 50 SU)

Day-of Schedule: Friday, 8/14

• Setup: 9:30am
• Daytime: 11a – 1p – Open House Block Party
• Evening: 6p – 10p – Parents’ Night Out

 

This Week We Need:

• Labels onto water bottles
• Giant soap bubble supplies planned and purchased (soap, wands, containers – will reimburse)
• Sign up for Day-of!
• Welcome packets made

 

Sunday, 8/9 – Volunteer Training:

If you’re signed up for a day-of role, this is your training! We’ll workshop our elevator statement, troubleshoot tricky moments, and practice asking for an email address as a group.

 

Next Week We Need:

• Poster Pickup
• Pickup bouquet of helium balloons
• Paper prep and sticker slicing
• Dress rehearsal: set up each table the way it’ll look on 8/14, so we can catch anything before the real thing

 

Day-Before:

• Stage street signs, tables, other supplies in Lobby

 

Day-Of:

• Openers to arrive around 9am to set up
• Doorway table SU greeters
• Doorway table Parkview greeters
• SLU block party booth staffers
• Bounce house helpers
• Giant Soap Bubble hosts (hang out with kids and show how it’s done)
• A street monitor
• Tours / Floaters
• Raffle Table greeters
