Join YFM for an All-Ages Pumpkin Patch Outing after Service on 10/19!
Cider! Food! Horses! Pony rides! Hay maze!
We’ll leave from Seattle Unity and travel to Bailey Farm in Snohomish — a third-generation family farm known for its pumpkins, berries, and rich soil tilth supported by their on-site composting program. Fun for all ages!

Meet in the lobby on the first floor after the service.

Carpool to the pumpkin patch (to be determined by number of people & vehicles)

Enjoy time at the pumpkin patch (as long as people choose to enjoy it – 1 hr, 1.5 hrs, 2 hrs, etc.)

Return to Seattle Unity drop-off point.

Current Farmer: Don Bailey currently serves as the primary farmer of Bailey Farm. His daughter, Annie, operates the property’s pumpkin patch and corn maze in the fall months, and is working on expanding the farm’s berry patch. The property is still owned by Don’s parents, Cliff and Rosemary Bailey, the 3rd generation on the family farm.
Project Background: Washington Farmland Trust’s first project in Snohomish County, Bailey Farm has been in the Bailey family since the early 1900’s. The farm was recently honored by Snohomish County’s Agriculture Program as a “2013 Centennial Farm.”
Property Description: The property sits two miles south of the City of Snohomish, just outside of the residential area of Mill Creek. The property falls on both sides of Springhetti Road, and stretches from Highway 9 on the west to the Snohomish River on the east. Bailey Farm is of significant size for the County, where the average farm size is currently 44 acres.
Farm Products: The Bailey’s run a U-Pick fruit and vegetable operation that is active in the summer months with raspberries, strawberries, cucumbers, peppers, green beans, and more. In addition, the Bailey’s grow hay and silage corn, pasture dairy heifers, and operate a commercial, aerated compost facility on site, which is both for sale to the public and used on farm for soil tilth.

*U-pick apples open daily at the pumpkin barn, till picked out (weekdays they open at noon)
How do I prepare for a trip to the farm?
- Dress for the weather. When the sun is out, bring water, sun hats, etc. to keep cool and protected. When it is raining or has recently rained, the fields are usually muddy and it is best to bring boots and be ready to get a little muddy. It is also a good idea to bring gloves.
- Be prepared to walk. Some produce areas require walking 1/4 mile or so from the entrance. You are welcome to bring your carts or wagons to tote your kids or produce around. “Off-road” strollers are also recommended for young kids. Remember the farm fields are uneven so strollers with small wheels may not work.
