IN-PERSON Series: Science & Spirituality

Date and Time: Thursday, April 17, 2025 - 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

What do Christians, Hindus, agnostics, and atheists have in common when contemplating God?

This fascinating 4-week class series explores Unity’s core principles and practices—through the lens of science. While science and spirituality were once seen as separate, modern research increasingly affirms what spiritual traditions have long taught: that prayer, meditation, and contemplation can have powerful, measurable effects on our health, well-being, and even brain function.

We’ll explore questions like:

  • Which spiritual practices actually help reduce stress and support brain health?
  • Is there a “God spot” in the brain—or even a “God equation”?
  • What does research say about the benefits of meditation and prayer?
  • How do people of different belief systems understand the experience of the divine?

Over a century ago, Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore embraced scientific thinking as a complement to spiritual understanding. This class continues in that spirit — bridging insight, inquiry, and practical tools for everyday life.
