Class Series: Exploring Interfaith Symbols – with Michael Bogar
Class Series: Exploring Interfaith Symbols
with Rev. Michael Bogar
Why does every major religious system develop symbolic images? One major reason is that these visual metaphors reflect and advance the universal human desire to be changed. The human mind and heart have always been incurably dissatisfied–always looking for more health, more contentment, more money, more pleasure, more life, more knowledge and a happier future. Every great religious symbol contains the steps and stages promising something more than we currently have!
This class will not focus on merely studying the ‘religions’ per se, but on the universal psychological significance of the various symbols promising the possibility and means of ultimate individual, collective and cosmic fulfillment. In other words, what do these images mean to you and me as we seek to become and experience fullness and wholeness?
Join Michael in the psychological discovery of four well known spiritual symbols: the Hindu OM glyph, the Buddhist Wheel of Samsara, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, and the Christian Eucharist.
