This course is intended for those who seek insight into how to achieve financial goals and reach financial independence in retirement.  The course will review the foundational teachings of Charles Fillmore, New Thought leader and one of the founders of the Unity Movement; Edwene Gaines, Unity minister and author of books on abundance; Eric Butterworth, an author and leader in Unity and New Thought.  Books written by each of these prosperity and abundance teachers provide source material for the content of the workshop.  Additionally, we will review the insights of financial writer, Morgan Housel, and his book “The Psychology of Money”.

The workshop will review basic savings and investment habits emphasizing the power of compounding to grow money over time.  Also, we will spend some time on the history of returns in the stock market and its volatility. We’ll cover how to manage your savings more capably, with improved insight and with less stress, by adopting some healthy changes in thinking.  By incorporating prosperity and abundance thinking into your money management we hope to help you enhance your saving and investing results.

Cost is $40 but no one turned away.

Greg Rupert Bio:

Greg was a Financial Advisor for nearly 45 years.  He studied economics at the University of Kansas and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973.  He earned the Series 7, or General Securities Registered Representative license in 1979.  This license serves as a benchmark for professional competency in the securities industry and is a requirement for interactions with the public to buy and sell investments.  He also earned the Series 65 certification to provide financial advice for a fee and achieved the Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor (APMA) designation which is a graduate-level certification program for experienced financial professionals.  He retired in December 2023.

Greg lives in downtown Seattle and has been a member of Seattle Unity Church since 2009.  He served on the Finance Team for 12 years and currently serves as the chair of the Church’s Board of Trustees.  He has one daughter who is a music journalist living in Los Angeles.
