Risers Meeting, May 17: Trans Community and Looming Initiatives

Everyone is invited to join The Risers on Sunday, 5/17, promptly at 11:30 in the L2 Sanctuary, for guest speakers and discussion about current social and political impacts on the Trans community, including citizen initiatives proposed for vote here in Washington this fall.

Congregant Sandy Varndell will share her family’s experience with a Trans child. Congregant Mitch Hunter, transgender advocate and activist, will share his knowledge regarding impacts of current legislation and what’s needed to counteract oppression. Libby Watson of No Hate Washington will provide information about her organization and citizen initiatives targeting Trans school children.

This promises to be an inspiring and challenging session that we hope all will attend, showing up as the compassionate caring community we are.
