This year’s Fourth of July brings a mixed bag of emotions, and Associate Minister Diane Robertson wrestles with the central questions around our sense of national identity. Diving deep into the meaning of patriotism and its shadow, nationalism, she finds many paradoxes, which can’t be ignored or glossed over any more.
