On this, the first Sunday in Advent, Rev. Karen spoke of the Christmas story being a template for the awakening/unfolding of our individual selves, and for our calling back our inner light in this time of increasing darkness and waning daylight.
Rev. Karen referenced the Coming Home chapter of “The Soul of the Pilgrim” by Christine Valters Painter Each year we have an annual theme, and this year’s was “The inner Pilgrimage”, using the material in Ms. Painter’s book.
The first step, Rev. Karen pointed out, is the need to say, “yes”. Following that, in the unfoldment of that yes, it’s wise to confide only in those who will support you.
Upon your unequivocal “yes”, as Joes Olsteen puts it, God will breathe in your direction.
Our featured artist was the amazing and wonderful Shauynce Omar, who received several well-deserved standing ovations for her artistry.
