New Building Update

Interior paint is nearly complete, countertops are being installed, sinks and other fixtures are being installed; including the lights. The large chandelier lights in the Sanctuary and the decorative lights in Unity Hall are all installed and seen here.

The wall sconces from the Chapel in our old building (as well as several other items) were salvaged to be reused in our new building. The Chapel wall sconces are being installed in several locations on the first floor and on the third floor in Unity Hall. One is shown in the picture here over what will be the coffee/tea/water station near the kitchen. Harold’s Lighting did a beautiful job of cleaning and refinishing the wall sconces to give them renewed use in our new building.

As stated in last month’s newsletter and at our annual meeting, we have experienced additional delays due to the Teamster’s strike and availability of concrete, as well as availability of work crews due to covid. Currently construction is anticipated to be complete in early April. There will be 4 to 6 weeks for move-in and training with new systems to follow, which means first services starting late spring or early summer.

We are grateful for the dedicated work of our project team and everyone engaged in the project, which are an integral part of the creative process unfolding through our building project.
