About Our Building
Seattle Unity’s new building, designed by world-renowned architects, Olson Kundig, is located in the heart of South Lake Union at 8th & John. The building is recently opened for Services and other Events - and you can peek inside as Tom Kundig introduces the facility at the end of construction. (See video, right.)
If you ask any architect what their most important building is, it would be a place of worship, a place of sanctuary. -Tom Kundig
Construction
Seattle Unity is in a very exciting time in the life of our community. After 60 years in the same building at 200 8th Ave N in South Lake Union, we made the decision to construct a new physical home to better serve our community and future generations.
We celebrated and said good-bye to our existing building in the summer of 2019. The underground work was completed in the first half of 2020 and our construction began in November 2020.
Watch for news about our grand opening of our beautiful new building in summer of 2022!
Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we are on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
Seattle Unity Building Prayer
We are engaged in a creative process that blesses future generations. Seattle Unity's building project is unfolding with grace and ease in a timely manner. It is on schedule, under budget and is Divinely guided.
The perfect people are in the right leadership positions to shepherd this process. The board of trustees and the congregation are helpful, loving, generous, supportive and centered in Spirit.
We use this process as a path to awakening.
We affirm this in the name and through the power of the Living Spirit of Truth.
