Our 2018 goal is 100 Stewardship Pledges
To date we have 68 Stewardship Pledges for a total pledged amount of $175,428. In 2017, we received 76 pledges for a total of $190,010.
A difference this year has been significantly more people signing up for recurring monthly giving (11 new and 6 people updated their giving amount). Thank you! More good news: there have been a few of our core members who signed up for the monthly recurring giving for the first time!
Auto-recurring giving is an additional level of commitment beyond Stewardship Pledging because we have greater certainty in those monthly tithes. It’s the “set it and forget it” style of even and consistent giving which works throughout the year, allowing our members to enjoy their travels and their busy lives, and STILL support Seattle Unity on a consistent and stable level.
Currently our monthly recurring tithes are $7,606 for a total annual amount of $91,272. This is approximately 18% of our annual operating budget.
Auto-recurring giving provides additional information we can use for budgeting. Another important factor while we are in temporary space is that this method of giving will be a more secure and efficient way to donate: we won’t have the luxury of our “Finance Office” as a secure collection place each Sunday.
Thank you for your generous support of Seattle Unity. If you would like more information about Stewardship or about monthly recurring giving, please speak with any Board member, or with Diane Robertson, firstname.lastname@example.org or (206) 622-8475.

Looking to the Future
Development all around us! Our neighbors across the alley (the Olympic Color Rods building) will be changing. This project is scheduled to start this summer and we anticipate close coordination while we are still in our existing building and once our project starts More info on that project here
Our iconic Tapestries which grace our current Sanctuary were designed and created specifically for this space, which is significantly larger than what our new Sanctuary space will be. They were also designed to be displayed together, to represent our core value of honoring all spiritual paths. They physically will not fit in our new, smaller Sanctuary space. more info
On June 17th at noon, we will hold a meeting open to all who love and honor our Tapestries and Altars, and will be looking at two issues concerning them.
1) Knowing that we will be saying farewell to these Tapestries, how can we best honor them as we say farewell to them?
2) What is the best place for our Tapestries to find a new home?
This meeting will be facilitated by Debbie Ward.

Youth & Families/Earth Day
Earth Day with Paul Cheoketen Wagner at Seattle Unity / Spiritual Community. Feeling inspired. Feeling hopeful.
He is the designer of the winter structures for the #waterislife #nodapl protesters. He directs Protectors of the Salish Sea and is a brilliant water rights activist reminding us through story and music of the ancestors and the abundant “Eden” that used to be here in the NW of whales, salmon, old growth….which is also the GOAL to work toward. May we ripple this forward. We are not separate. We are part of the larger body. May we apply the Golden Rule. — with Paul Cheoketen Wagner.
Just wanted to say that Paul was perfect. His talk downstairs captivated the youth. There were approx 40 folks in attendance at the Earthcare event that flowed in and out. The poem Yolanda read was AMAZING! Warsan Shire (who did the poem for Lemonade) Rose and her girls wore their traditional capes and sang 2 Tligit songs….AMAZING!!
This is a note from Rose. I am deeply moved and changed by Paul’s teachings yesterday. My heart is alive, and cannot anymore be un-alive. The girls too. Wow! Gunalcheesh! (Thank you!)
Thank you for honoring us with your presence in our Community on Earth Day!
