Legacy Giving

Help Build Our Long-Term Prosperity

Seattle Unity’s Legacy Giving Program enables congregants and friends of Seattle Unity to build our long-term prosperity.

A Legacy Gift is a specially designated financial gift (separate from tithes or donations) to supports the long-term financial health of the organization. A Legacy Gift typically comes from a donor’s assets rather than income, often through a bequest in a will or trust.

While Legacy Giving can be generous, it is not reserved for the wealthy. In fact, many of our cherished legacy donors are long-time members with modest means and deeply generous hearts. You may make a direct contribution to one of our funds described below though such means as a bequest in your will, charitable trust, or appreciated stock. In addition, during this kickoff and ongoing, when you notify Seattle Unity of your gift of $10,000 or above to Seattle Unity’s Endowment Fund you will become a member of the Tree of Life Legacy Society, and your name will be engraved on a permanent art piece in the building in gratitude. The Endowment Fund is an especial focus as it is is a permanent investment fund, where the initial fund is preserved and invested to generate ongoing interest income to support our mission and goals.

What Might Your Gift Be Used for?

You can choose where to place your gift for the current and future operations of your spiritual home:

Endowment Fund: Gifts to this fund are invested and provide long-term, ongoing support for our church.
Capital Fund: Used to ensure our new building is well maintained.
Reserve Fund: Only used for emergencies and invested to gain higher returns.
Operations Fund: Funds our current and continuing programs and ministry.

Tree of Life Legacy Society

When you make a legacy gift through a bequest in your will to Seattle Unity’s Endowment Fund, and notify the church, you will become a member of the Seattle Unity Tree of Life Legacy Society. Your name will be added to a permanent art installation in gratitude.
