Hey Hikers and Walkers!
Good for you for stepping up for getting out into the woods! And the more the merrier: those who didn’t step up at last Sunday’s service are certainly welcome to join this coming Sunday’s walk/hike.
The plan is to leave as soon as practical after the service on 11 Aug. You should bring:
- sunscreen, lip balm (i’ll have extra sunscreen)
- hat, sunglasses
- Minor first aid stuff, namely bandages
The locations are close by – outside of North Bend, just a half hour away. We should try to carpool as much as possible, which we can arrange beforehand via e-mail, and also can be arranged after the service.
The location i had originally planned is Rattlesnake Mountain:
A few persons have expressed a desire for an easy walking experience, so i’ve changed the location to Rattlesnake Ledge, just a few minutes futher up the highway. It offers an alternative mostly flat-land walk around Rattlesnake Lake, and one can go further out to the Cedar River Watershed Visitors Center. Those who want to hike can hike up to Rattlesnake Ledge (3.8 mi RT) and beyond up along Rattlesnake Ridge and the great views it offers…. A caveat: the short Ledge hike is EXTREMELY POPULAR and will be as busy as a Seattle arterial at peak hour:
Certainly, those who wish to do the first hike may do that. If ya’ll would like to split between the two locations, those arrangements can be made now or after the service.
Shoot me questions if you need….
