An Interesting Bit of Seattle Unity History

On January 29, 1958 President Dwight Eisenhower attended funeral services in Kansas City for his elder brother Arthur Eisenhower. The services were presided over by Rev. Donald O’Connor and lasted about 25 minutes.

Mr. O’Connor made particular reference to these passages from the book of John: “Jesus said…..I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”

Rev. O’Connor was the minister at Seattle Unity from 1948 to 1955. In 1955 Rev. O’Connor and his wife Dorothy returned to Kansas City to work at the Unity School of Christianity.

Donald and Dorothy O’Connor returned to Seattle Unity in the late 50’s and were the ministers who oversaw the building of Seattle Unity’s current church building.
