Seattle Unity is again preparing for the SING! Gospel Festival May 20th.
This time, we’re going deeper.
Michael Allen and Kenya Leger join conductor Matt Corey for two special sessions, where we dig into issues of musical, cultural and spiritual diversity, asking:
1) How real can we be about the challenges of mixing progressive spirituality with the language of black gospel music?
2) What strengths do we need to develop in order to be able to sing gospel music effectively?
2 Wednesdays, May 3rd and May 10th – 7 to 9 pm.~ Concert May 20th
Kenya and Michael are both highly experienced clinicians for the Gospel Music Workshop of America, as well as delightful people. As part of our practicum, they’ll teach us two easy pieces, which we’ll share on May 20th at the SING 2017 concert.
All singers are welcome, no previous experience is necessary.
